ESET Security Review
ESET’s suite gives you the most value for money. Its malware detection rate comes close to perfection and the suite comes with an array of useful features in a small footprint. The Android package includes an anti-theft feature to help you find your phone that has been stolen. The premium version comes with parental controls, a safe browser and a passcode manager. The security features for networks include a firewall as well as the option to check home devices for vulnerabilities, are excellent.
SysInspector is an outstanding tool. It takes a snapshot and highlights important Registry entries and running processes. It isn’t easy for those who are new to the field. However, if are familiar with extended task managers like the ones found in online deal making process Sysinternals’ process explorer you will feel right at in the right place.
Another great feature is the possibility of scheduling scans on-demand. This is a great alternative to real-time scanning, and it’s fast and simple to set up. It’s a shame ESET does not group it with other scheduling functions and its UI makes it somewhat more difficult to find than some of their competitors.
Other noteworthy features include a robust form filler for online banking, a powerful spam filter that has earned the highest scores in our tests, and a very effective password manager that’s simple to use. The password manager is available in the premium version and requires an ESET account, however it works just as well as most standalone solutions I’ve tested.
