A Group of Artists (The Painters of the Brücke) was painted in 1925–26 by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. Considered an icon of modern German art, it pictures four key members of the Brücke, or Bridge, an avant-garde group founded in Dresden in 1905 and noted for its expressive brushwork and bold, unexpected color.
